Ryan Agoncillo and the Dose Participantes

Daring dozen

MANILA, Philippines – On the set of “Pinoy Fear Factor” (PFF) in Argentina, host Ryan Agoncillo recalled that the show’s 12 contestants would often get startled whenever they heard his voice.

“They got shell-shocked,” related Agoncillo. “When we wrapped taping, I treated them to a night out. I didn’t want them to have bad memories of our stay in Buenos Aires.”

Actually, Agoncillo pointed out that it took a lot to daunt the 12 “participantes,” as the contestants are called.

According to Lauren Dyogi, ABS-CBN Business Unit Head: Of the original 12, only one backed out, a single mom. “We initially had six boys and six girls. But since one female contestant quit, we ended up with five girls and seven boys.”

The female participantes, especially the celebrities, put up a good fight, said Dyogi.

TV host Phoemela Baranda insisted that she joined PFF precisely because “she didn’t want to be boxed as a celebrity,” as all glamour and glitz.

Like Phoemela, the other participantes wanted to prove something to themselves, their families and the public.

Actress LJ Moreno noted that the show serves as “affirmation that I’m not the same girl I used to be.”

Case in point: LJ’s bio states that, during her time away from show biz, she studied early childhood education and is now a preschool teacher.

Aspiring chef Jose Sarasola asserted that he doesn’t want to be perceived as another spoiled kid from the suburbs. “I have a lot to offer.”

Jose, however, was the first to get hit by intrigues. Even before the show’s Nov. 10 launch, his purported nude photos were posted online. Dyogi nipped the controversy in the bud: “I checked and it’s not him in the pictures.”

Bikini Summit winner Gail Nicolas admitted: “I want to overcome my fears.” Chief among her phobias are being suspended in heights and confined in dark places.

Former cager Ram Sagad claimed that he joined the show “to venture out of my comfort zone … It’s my first time to be separated from my family.”

Dyogi explained that the Kapamilya network “Filipinized” the Endemol franchise. As such, most of the participantes are a tad forthcoming about their sob stories.

Struggling businessman Manuel Chua Jr. singled out his 4-year-old daughter as his main reason for joining PFF and “failure” as his greatest fear.

Stand-up comic and Glutathione sales agent Janna Dominguez said that the P2-million cash prize would help her dad retire from his job as construction worker in Japan.

RJ Calipus, a stevedore from Tondo, recounted that “life has been tough for my wife and two daughters. It hurts me every time I see them sick or hungry.”

Ledge dancer Savanah Lamsen admitted that PFF is her entry point to show biz. She believes that fame “would help give back to my family the comfortable life we once had.”

Dyogi described them as

the daring and determined dozen.

Balikbayan Marion Angelo de la Cruz survived teen rebellion and racism in Austria. Veterinarian Elmer Felix flunked the board exams twice before passing on his third try.

Model Jommy Teotico almost died after being beaten up by the family of a married woman she ended up in bed with.

Joking or not, Jommy, however, gave the most honest reason for joining PFF: “To meet the female participantes.”

Wolf's Rain main cast

Wolf's Rain main cast

Meron akong kinababaliwang panoorin ngayun,, isa syang mangga,, hindi prutas ha,, hehehe!!! Anime from Japan. Grabe,, ang ganda ng plot,, adrenalin rushes to my teeth,, hehehe!!! Toinks,, meron ba nun??

Wolf’s Rain begins in Freeze City, a northern city in a world where the majority of people live in poverty and hardship. According to an old legend, when the end of the world comes, Paradise (楽園 Rakuen?) will appear, however, only wolves will have access to it. Although wolves are believed to have been hunted to extinction nearly two hundred years ago, they still exist, surviving by taking human form.

Kiba, an injured lone white wolf, goes to Freeze City following the scent of the Lunar Flower, which is the key to opening Paradise. There he encounters Tsume, Hige, and Toboe, three other wolves who were drawn to Freeze City by the scent of the Lunar Flower and are now living in the city. The wolves encounter Quent Yaiden, a former Sheriff of Kyrios, obsessed with hunting down wolves, and his dog Blue. Cheza, the Flower Maiden who is destined to lead the wolves to Paradise, is being studied at a laboratory under the care of Cher Degré. She is awakened by the smell of wolf’s blood. As Kiba and Hige approach the lab to find her, she is stolen away by Lord Darcia the Third, whose people created Cheza.

Yan ang plot. Dun sa mga mahilig rin sa mangga series na katulad ko,, I recommend this one. Walang panama dito yung “Lobo” ng Angel-Piolo tandem. Hehehe!!! Syempre naman,, kasi tatak Pinoy yun eh,, itong manggang to,, tatak lapad, hehehe!!!

Roll-over for the casts…..

Hige

Toboe

Toboe is a brown wolf and the youngest of the group. He is considered a cub by the others in the early part of the series. He was raised by an old woman who found him as a very small cub outside the city, and still wears the bracelets she gave him. Due to his raising, Toboe is friendly and protective towards most humans, though he will fight them to protect himself or another member of his pack.

Hige

Hige

Hige is a tan wolf with a carefree attitude, who seems quite comfortable living in human societies. After meeting Kiba, he goes along with the idea of searching for Paradise without much argument, though he doesn’t show the same passion as Kiba. Hige wears a collar around his neck that he doesn’t remember how he got. He also has the strongest sense of smell in the group.

Kiba

Kiba

Kiba is a white wolf dedicated to finding the Lunar Flower and opening the way to Paradise. Kiba primarily acts on his instincts, which sometimes lead him to act rashly. Full of wolf pride, Kiba initially expresses disgust at wolves who use human disguises, but eventually realizes that it is necessary to survive.

Tsume

Tsume

Tsume is a gray wolf with a scar across his chest. Rough and self-reliant, Tsume is portrayed as a strong fighter who keeps his true feelings to himself. He joins the others out of boredom and does not initially believe in Paradise. Though he frequently quarrels with Kiba over their journey, he eventually comes to believe as strongly as Kiba.

Oh,, see,, nakss.. Wish ko lang,, ganito ako nung bata pa ako,, kaya lang,, frustrated singer din ako eh,, hehehe!!! Walang pakialamanan. Hehehe!!!

Amy, Angelo, Aubrey, Cristina, Risie And Philip

Amy, Angelo, Aubrey, Cristina, Risie And Philip

“The Little Grand Dream Night of Pinoy Dream Academy Little Dreamers hailed Philip Nolasco as the first Little Grand Star Dreamer.  The nine year old singing boy wonder from General Santos City beat out five other kids who were also part of the Top 6 to compete in the prestigious competition.  Philip broke into tears when he heard his name as the season’s victor, garnering 191,060 or 40.47% of over-all text votes.  His proud parents jumped on stage to celebrate his win, and Philip capped off the night with the Josh Groban hit You Raise Me Up.  Dubbed as the ‘little singing heartthrob,’ Philip won a Home Theater from Sony, a House and Lot from Globe Asiatique, and one million peso cheque.Landing as 2nd Little Star Dreamer was Amy Nobleda.  The six-year old girl from Las Piñas got 31.03% or 146,478 text votes and took home P500,000 cheque as her prize.  Angelo Garcia, six year old from Oriental Mindoro, was the 3rd Little Star Dreamer.  He got 28.5% or 134,559 text votes and won P300,000 cheque as prize.

Voting was temporarily closed in the middle of the show to determine who among the six talented kids will join the elite Top 3.  The six Little Dreamers were asked to open their respected gift boxes which contained either an mp3 player or a star.  Angelo, Philip, and Amy were overjoyed when they each got a star meaning that they are the Top 3 Little Dreamers.  On the other hand, Cristina, Risie, and Aubrey were emotional as they sang their farewell song because they failed to make the final cut.  Afterwards, voting was then resumed, and Philip took the lead in the text votes to become the grand winner.

The Little Grand Dream Night was also jam packed with special guests and musical numbers.  Singing kid wonder Makisig Morales performed an OPM retro medley with the ex little dreamers.  PDA2Top 6 Cris, Van, Liezel, Miguel, Bugoy, and Grand Star Dreamer Laarni also treated the audience to a lively performance.  Jimmy Antiporda, Aiza Seguerra, and academy Headmaster Ryan Cayabyan served as the jurors for the finale.”

Ang “Ang TV” noon,, ito na ngayun,, binubuo ng mga batang makukulit at napakacute at nakakatawa,,, hay,, naku,, name it,, basta enjoy silang panoorin.

“Goin’ Bulilit is a sketch comedy show broadcasted by ABS-CBN in the Philippines. It features children as comedians. The show’s title is a reference to an earlier defunct sketch comedy show, Goin’ Bananas, which starred veteran actors Christopher de Leon, Bobot Mortiz and Johnny Delgado. On the other hand, the format of the show is patterned from Ang TV, a now defunct comical children’s show from the 1990s. Both Goin’ Bananas and Ang TV were shown in ABS-CBN. Goin Bulilit is currently leading the Sunday primetime viewing with weekly nationwide ratings of not lower than 30% (31.4% in Manila) according AC Nielsen. It is the most successful children’s comedy on television today.”

kuwentuhang sikat – Rodel Naval

Last night as I’m thinking of what next topic should I going post, I grab the tv remote and change the channel, out of the sudden Rodel Naval appeared on the screen. Di ko na ata inabot ‘tong aktor na ito.

Naisip ko, ito na lang ang ipo-post ko,, mukhang interesting naman eh.. Why not..

rodel naval

rodel naval

Let’s just add a little background…

Rodel Naval (February 16, 1953June 11, 1995) was a well-known singer, songwriter and actor from the Philippines. He is best remembered for such songs as “Lumayo Ka Man” and “Muli”.

Rodel was the last one in the family of seven kids to arrive in Toronto. He came to Canada as landed immigrant sometime in 1980. After a year in Toronto, Rodel decided to pursue his dream somewhere else – America, the promised “land of promise”, seemed to be the most logical choice. He packed his bag to try his luck in Los Angeles, California. He had three live major concert performances at the Ebell Theare, the Scottish Rite TempleAmbassador Hotel. It was during one of this major concerts that a talent scout discovered him and made an offer for him to perform at Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe. After Rodel had performed several times at Imperial Hotel in Las Vegas, his talent scout offered him to sign a contract as regular feature of the club. Few days before his new stint began, the stage of the club collapsed and several days later, the talent scout died of heart attack. Depressed, he went back to Los Angeles.

Now,, listen to this one…

Ang ganda ng kantang ‘to. Sa tuwing naririnig ko ang kantang ‘to,, di ko mapigilang sumayaw makapanta din.

Saludo ako sayo IDOL…!!!
